General Maintenance Technician (Covington, OH)

BARRYSTAFF is seeking a general maintenance tech for a facility in Covington, OH. This person will install, maintain, adjust and repair industrial equipment. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, the lathe, grinder, drills and milling machines.

The starting pay is between $16 and $20 per hour.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Visually inspect and test machinery

-Detect malfunctions in machines and lead repairs

-Dismantle defective machines and install new/repaired mechanical or electrical parts

-Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery

-Install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment

-Repair and replace gauges, valves and pressure regulators

-Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts

HOURS:

Must be able to accommodate on-call demands. Must be flexible enough to work any shift, overtime and weekends as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

-Must be able to work independently with little supervision

-Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs

-Able to interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, procedural manuals and/or government regulations

-Able to read metric drawings

EDUCATION:

Must possess an Associate’s Degree from a 2-year college or technical school and 2-3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment

Maintenance Tech (Covington, OH)

BARRYSTAFF is looking for someone to install, maintain, adjust and repair equipment in an industrial environment. This person will report directly to the vice president of manufacturing.

You’ll be responsible for visually inspecting and testing machinery and equipment. You’ll have to listen to any unusual sounds coming from the machine and perform preventative maintenance as needed. You may have to dismantle defective parts and install new/repaired replacements.

You’ll be tasked with installing and repairing electrical apparatus, such as transformers.

Additionally, you’ll have to set up and operate machine tools like the lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools. You may have to operate a cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.

Must be flexible to work any shift, overtime and weekends as needed.

The right candidate will be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Also must be able to read metric drawings, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic diagrams.
